How long do the results last?

The results with the CHI Straightener System are permanent. The hair that has been treated will remain straight and not become curly,wavy or frizzy again. The regrowth that appears in the following months will need the Thermal Reconditioning treatment again.

What kind of hair is suitable for Japanese Thermal Straightening?

Most hair types except African (the hair is too fragile and cannot withstand the heat) will work well for Thermal Reconditioning.

What will my hair look and feel like after Thermal Reconditioning?

Your hair will be straight and frizz free. It will feel incredibly soft and silky with alot more shine. Conditioning throughout the Thermal Straightening process insures that your hair remains undamaged.

How long does Thermal Reconditioning take to complete?

The process can take three to six hours to complete depending on hair length and density. The treatment is performed as follows:

Can we use the CHI Straightenr System on people you have build up of well water, chlorine and minerals etc?

If excessive build up is apparent a demineralizing treatment to the hair using a clarifying treatment may be necessary prior to the Japanese hair straightening service.

Can I use Thermal Reconditioning on hair that has been previously relaxed with sodium/calcium hydroxy?

Absolutely no. Both of these systems have a Thio base and therefore are not suitable for hair that has been previously relaxed with sodium/calcium hydroxy.

How long do we need to wait when coloring the hair after Thermal Reconditioning?

Hair can be colored/highlighted immediately after thermal reconditioning.

How long do we need to wait before we can do a re-touch of the CHI Straightener System?

The new growth will need to be treated about three to six months after the initial Japanese Thermal Straightening depending on hair type.

How soon can I shampoo the hair?

There is a 48 hour wait period before shampooing hair.Then hair should be washed only with CHI Home Care Products.

Can I use blow dryer and round brush or curling iron to style the hair after Thermal Reconditioning Service ?

Yes. Hair can be styled as desired.

Can I use the CHI Straightener System if my hair is colored or highlighted?

Yes. We have three formulas specifically designed for all hair types. Even colored and highlighted hair formulas are available.
